The most famous team in basketball history put out a Finals shirt… and Michael Jordan isn't on it.

It's June 1996.

The Bulls are 72 and 10, the best record the NBA has ever seen, and Seattle is the last team standing.

Everyone expects the artwork to be Jordan against Gary Payton. Instead the artist draws the two power forwards: Shawn Kemp, the Reign Man, against Dennis Rodman. And he calls it right.

Rodman ties a Finals record in Game 2 with eleven offensive rebounds.

Kemp attacks the glass all series, and when Seattle falls down three games to none, he helps drag them back to 3 and 2. Then Game 6, June 16, Chicago. Jordan shoots 5 for 19.

It doesn't matter.

Rodman rips down 19 rebounds, Kemp fouls out with 18 points and 14 boards, and the Bulls win 87 to 75 for their fourth title.

The shirt saw the real matchup before the series even tipped.

This is the 1996 original.
